TENNERTON — Shirley R. Lycett, 83, of Teter Crossing, Buckhannon, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at her home. She was born on Dec. 16, 1933, in Washington, Pa., a daughter of the late Edward and Genevieve Cole Roupe. On Sept. 3, 1953, she was united in marriage to James E. “Jim” Lycett, who preceded her in death on April 21, 2007.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son Jack Martin Lycett; two sisters: Linda and Virginia; and one brother Sonny. She is survived by one daughter Elva Iris Bennett and husband Scott, of Missouri; two sons: James Edward Lycett Jr., of Buckhannon, and Larry Jesse Lycett and wife Elaine, of California; seven grandchildren: Valerie, Sherry, Mike, Jess, James, Jerod, and Corey; 10 great-grandchildren: Lori, Jonathon, Edward, Dharma, Darius, Dacia, Lamar, Ariel, Jaiden, and Avelyn; one daughter-in-law Cheryl; and one brother-in-law Ray Noble Sr.
The family will receive friends at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, from noon to 1 p.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. Robert F. Heavner officiating.
