Seeking correspondents for local news

Do you have a passion to share local news with your neighbors, friends and community? Well, this could be your opportunity to shine with your hometown newspaper.

The Record Delta is currently seeking correspondents to share the news with readers.

Correspondents can focus on their particular area of interest such as schools, gardening, outdoors, history, or whatever their interest may be.

“Adding more local correspondents is part of our plan to expand coverage in 2019 to be your true hometown local paper,” said Editor John Clise.

“Local correspondents add a unique flavor to a newspaper that attracts readers,” Clise added. “People love to see their friends in the paper.”

This opportunity will give people the chance to get a better and deeper look into the community in which they live.

“What we would like to accomplish is giving this wonderful community a bigger sense of belonging and sharing,” Clise said. “Whether it’s your love of local history, your grandchildren making the honor roll or your parents 75th wedding anniversary, people love to read good news. This is definitely the opportunity you have been looking for to share all of the good news you see in the community.”

If you are a member of a civic organization, club or other group seeking to share the good news and success of your group, this is also a chance for you too. It’s time to share all the positive being accomplished in Buckhanon and Upshur County.

You can also share your pictures with us as well. Weather it’s flowers, birds, your pet, a family reunion picture, feel free to share that great news in pictures, too. People definitely love pictures.
