Russell “Russ” Bush, 70, of Mars, PA, passed away July 20, 2021. For 17 years, Russ fought the good fight and finished the race, keeping his faith in battling cancer.
Born December 4, 1950, in East Stroudsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Earl and Marian Bush. Russ loved teaching and taught in West Virginia for 37 years. Russ loved the Lord and loved worshipping with his brothers and sisters in Christ at Dutilh Church. He loved the Word of God and led and participated in Bible studies and small group studies. Russ loved serving others and spent numerous trips traveling to Haiti to help the people there and to develop lifetime relationships with them. He had a heart for missionaries and supported missionaries throughout the world. Anything that pointed people to Jesus, Russ was all in.
Russ is survived by the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Deborah Fisk Bush. Deb and Russ met at West Virginia Wesleyan College, where Russ received his undergraduate and graduate degree. Their daughter, Becky, her husband, Rick, and their children, Brooke and Parker, of New Cumberland, WV, and their son, Dustin, his wife, January, and their children, Mason, Camden and Emmie, of Zelienople, PA, kept Russ and Deb busy.
He is survived by his sister, Marlene Miller, and her husband, Skip, of Beverly Hills, FL, and his brother, Earl Bush of Madison, WI, as well as several nieces and nephews. His entire family were loving and supportive of one another. Russ was truly blessed with a family who cared about each other. He was preceded in death by one nephew, Nathan Parker Bush, and one sister-in-law, Donna Bush, both of Madison, WI.
Russ had a favorite scripture that he tried to live by since the year he was diagnosed with cancer. “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
