Roseann Boyd Marshall

JANE LEW ­— Roseann Boyd Marshall, 73, of Buckhannon passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 in the Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon.

She was born in Elkins on Oct. 12, 1944 a daughter of the late Harold Alfred Talbott and Jean Morris Talbott.

Her strong, independent nature will be carried on by her two children: Susan Harsh and husband, Jeremy, of Buckhannon, and Mark Marshall and companion, Angela Totten, of Goodyear, Ariz.; two grandchildren: Eric Marshall and Bella Marshall; and two grandcats: Cyrus and Violet.

As a teenager, Roseann began developing a sense of work ethic and responsibility as she worked alongside her parents at the Elkins drive-in theater. She graduated from Elkins High School in 1962, and worked as a business manager for Mountaineer Motors in Elkins for 32 years. Her sharp intellect and friendly personality proved to be valuable assets as she devoted much of her time to serving her community. She was a member of the Elkins City Council, and the Randolph County Democratic Executive Committee. She worked tirelessly on various flood recovery projects.  She was especially grateful for the loving, compassionate care she received from her daughter and best friend, Susan, during the last 12 years, as they addressed various health challenges together.

Roseann’s request for cremation has been honored. Friends and family will gather at the Horizons Church in Buckhannon from noon-1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dave Cunningham officiating.
