BUCKHANNON — Robert Melvin Shreve, 83, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017 at his home.
He was born Nov. 23, 1933 in Upshur County, a son of the late Hazel Talbott Shreve. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Mills Shreve and two brothers, Wilson “Mike” Shreve and Paul Shreve.
He is survived by one son, Terry Alan Shreve and wife Karen, of Grantsville; two daughters, Judy L. Metheney and husband Robert, of Webster Springs, and Debra Summerfield and husband David, of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandsons, Adam Radabaugh and wife Laurie, Travis Radabaugh, Clinton Radabaugh and wife Nicole and Brent Metheney and wife Jody, all of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Kalyn Gibson and husband Matt of Buckhannon and Lora Lee Spurlock and husband Brett, of Atlanta; 14 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Janice Lantz, of Buckhannon, and two sisters, Verla Lamb, of Elkins, and Wanda Harris and husband Junior, of Hughsville, Md.
Robert was a refractory finisher at Corharts and attended the Church of Christ.
Mr. Shreve enjoyed working on engines or motors any chance he could get. Per his request, Mr. Shreve will be cremated.
