MOUNDSVILLE — Richard Perry Sr., 94, formerly of Moundsville, W.Va. died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 in Wheeling Hospital Medical Park, Wheeling, W.Va.
He was born April 26, 1922 in Buckhannon, W.Va. the son of the late David M. and Edna DeBarr Perry.
He was a World War II Army Veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart; a retired coal miner from Shoemaker Coal Mine; and Methodist by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Perry; a son, Mike Perry; a brother, Bob Perry; and three sisters, Maxine Wamsley, Imogene Wilfong, and Ruth Copelan.
Survivors include a son, Richard, Jr. (Nancy) Perry of McMechen, W.Va.; three daughters, Kathleen (Link) Kelley of Buckhannon, Judy (Bill) Pazeretsky of San Antonio, Texas, and Karla (Dale) Montgomery of Moundsville; daughter-in-law, Jeanie Perry of Buckhannon; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five brothers, Bill Perry of Buckhannon, Pete (Caroline) Perry of Indian Camp, W.Va., Arnett (Mary) Perry of Buckhannon, Kenneth (Sheila) Perry and David Perry, Jr., all of Tenmile, W.Va.; and a sister, Glenda (David) Bosley of Tallmansville, W.Va.
Family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mitch Johnston officiating.
Entombment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Sherrard, W.Va.
