Rev. Doyle V. Lantz


TENNERTON — Rev. Doyle V. Lantz, 81, of Buckhannon, died Friday, February 16, 2018, at his home.  He was born on Jan. 20, 1937, in Upshur County, a son of the late George Washington and Madge Jane Linger Lantz.  On Sept. 21, 1959, he was united in marriage to Weva Lea Landis Lantz, who survives.  Also surviving are two daughters:  Karen Smith and partner Kevin McClure of Buckhannon and Debra and husband Daniel Dufek of Ashland, Wisconsin; two sons:  Michael Lantz of Gore, Va. and Robert Lantz of Queens; 11 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Doyle Lantz Jr.; four sisters:  Dana Jalosky, Imojean Lucas, Emajean Rechester and Pearl Plants; and five brothers:  Fred Tomey, George Lantz, Arthur Lantz, Geoff “Curly” Tomey and Carl Lantz.

Rev. Lantz was a preacher and a Pentecostal by faith.  He was a skilled craftsman and created many beautiful pieces of woodwork.  He dearly loved his family and enjoyed caring for animals, especially horses.

The family will receive friends at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, from 11 a.m. to noon, the funeral hour.  Interment will follow in the Tenmile Baptist Cemetery.  Online condolences may be extended to the Lantz family at www.heavnerandcutright.com.  The family of Rev.
