Regena “Jean” Walton, 79, of Chipley, FL, met her Lord and Savior on December 8, 2020, in Jackson Hospital in Marianna, FL, following a brief illness.
She was born on April 4, 1941 in Gaines, West Virginia, to the late George W. and Opal A. Haymond. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Franklin Walton on July 6, 2017, and her brother, Jerry Allen Haymond on December 21, 2015.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her three loving children: Darla and husband Charlie Riffle of Rock Cave, WV, Dennis Walton of Front Royal, VA, and Debye and husband Chuck Shank of Wausau, FL; two grandchildren: David and wife Mimi Riffle of Buckhannon, WV, and Christy Riffle and fiancée Jarid Nutter of Wildcat, WV; three great grandsons: Landon, Holden and Hudson Riffle of Buckhannon, WV; and her beloved dog companion Muffin, who will now be making her home with Debye and Chuck.
Jean and Denzil owned and operated Walton’s Wayside in French Creek, WV, where friends and family were always welcome. They retired to Florida in 1996. The picture above was taken in front of Jean’s peanut butter tree. She enjoyed gardening and built her own koi pond, and a beautiful rock garden.
In honoring Jean’s wishes, she will be cremated, with no services. Brown Funeral Home of Chipley, FL is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to Darla Riffle, P.O. Box 255, Rock Cave, WV 26234.
