Red-hot tennis Lady Bobcats beat Fairmont State, 6-1

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats claimed a 6-1 victory Thursday over Fairmont State in a pivotal Mountain East women's tennis match.

The Lady Bobcats (9-5, 4-1 MEC) opened the match by claiming the doubles point and then took five singles matches to seal the win.

The Lady ‘Cats got two wins each from Rebecca Osborne, Cecilia Martinez, Julia Yanes, and Mariona Junyer while Maddie Chen also contributed a singles point.

Wesleyan won for the fourth consecutive time, and will clinch a top four finish in the league with one more conference win.

They will return to action Tuesday when they host West Virginia State at 2:30 p.m.
