Randolph “Randy” Leonard Bachman

TENNERTON — Randolph “Randy” Leonard Bachman, 89, of French Creek, formerly of Pickens went home Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 in the Nella’s Nursing home at Elkins. Born on July 22, 1928 in Pickens, he was the son of the late Ottomore Randolph and Elsie Jane Peck Bachman.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Jane Tiffner Bachman in 2012; brothers, Joseph, Arthur and Dennis Bachman; sisters, Virginia Nethken, Cecelia Hardman, Hester Heck and Tressie Shiflett. Randy was a U.S. Navy Veteran, self-employed logger, miner, school bus driver for Randolph County Board of Education and farmer. Randy’s favorite pastimes included wood working, hunting, fishing and playing with his grandkids.

Left to cherish his memory include: one daughter, Martha Wooten and husband Alvin, of Helvetia; three sons, Michael Bachman and wife Judy, of French Creek, David Bachman and wife Donna, of Summersville, and Alan Bachman and wife Mickey, of Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Nellie Thorne, of Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Heather, Little Randy, Jason, Danielle, Kara, Katie, Kristen, Matthew, David, Michael and Thomas; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Jan.7, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m.  in the Tomblyn-Clutter Funeral & Cremation 21 Elnora Circle Buckhannon, WV 26201. Funeral services will  be at 1 p.m. today,  Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 with Rev. Chad Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Pickens Cemetery with military grave rites performed by the Upshur County Honor Guard.
