BUCKHANNON — A New Year’s Eve drug bust resulted in the seizure of a substantial amount of marijuana, packaging materials, cash and guns from a Buckhannon residence. According to the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department, Robert Thomas Quici, age 20, of Buckhannon, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and THC oil, along with four counts of felony child neglect.
A press release said the Upshur County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with officers from the Buckhannon Police Department, executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence on Three Lick Rd. in Buckhannon at approximately 6:30 p.m. on December 31, 2019.
When the search warrant was executed, deputies reportedly discovered approximately 12.5 ounces of marijuana with a value of approximately $2,500, in addition to a large amount of THC extract known as “shatter”. The release said numerous digital scales and packaging materials, two handguns and one AR-15 rifle were confiscated. Approximately $8,000 in cash was also allegedly seized from Quici.
UCSD said the investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be pending. Law enforcement would also like to urge parents to be aware and cognizant of their children’s associations on social media, such as Snapchat and Instagram.
