Paul Eugene Bennett

It is with great sadness that I, Kathleen Bennett, announce the passing of my loving husband, Paul Bennett due to a long, hard fought battle with cancer.

Paul was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on August 28, 1944. He grew up in Ten Mile and in Buckhannon. After high school, he served in the US Air Force and was stationed at March Air Force Base. When his service ended, he went on to attend college and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona, CA, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Minor in Accounting. He worked in the apparel industry as well as the construction and engineering industry as a Controller. His passion for golf opened new doors as a VP of Operations/Controller for Palm Springs Golf and as the Chief Financial Officer for Electric Car Distributors until he retired in 2014.

For 29 years of marriage, Paul has been my rock, best friend, golfing partner, travel buddy and fashion critique. I feel at peace knowing that Paul is relieved of the struggles from the illness and can now rest and play golf in heaven.

Paul’s love of family was his number one priority. Two families became one when we married on October 3, 1992 and relocated to Palm Springs. Paul enjoyed golfing, playing tennis, going out to dinner, and was passionate about sports and watching it on his triple sized, big screen TV. It took a few years, but once I showed Paul the excitement and fun of travel, he was hooked and eager for our next adventure. Paul also loved clothes and was known by so many for his stylish attire that he quickly earned the nickname “Mr. GQ.”

Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be greatly missed by many. He possessed a beautiful soul that always found the best in everyone. Paul touched many lives from the warmth of his heart, his kindness, and his love. Throughout his illness, Paul constantly praised the medical professionals who helped him during his most challenging times with their unwavering compassion that he appreciated more than they’ll ever know. From our family to the many medical professionals Paul and we relied on, Thank You.

Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Kathleen; his sons: Jeff Bennett (Kathryn) and Eric Bennett; stepson, Shane Allor (Lori); stepdaughter, Christina (Jeff); grandkids: Shane Allor II, Corey Allor, Wyatt Tucker, Shelbi Tucker, Josh Bennett, Gracie Bennett, Kylie Bennett, Bailey Bennett, Maci Bennett, Delaney Bennett and Gavin Bennett. He is also survived by his family in West Virginia: Phyllis Jean Hollen, Buckhannon; Ronald Lee Bennett, Buckhannon; Darrell Ray Bennett (Patty), Buckhannon; Allen Wayne Bennett, Buckhannon; Sandra Elaine Gilbert (Ray), Buckhannon; Ladora Atkins, Milton City; and many nieces and nephews.

Words from our wedding verse stand today, “Two lives, two hearts joined together in friendship and united forever in love.”

A private celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 24, at Wiefels & Son Chapel in Palm Springs followed by a luncheon. As per Paul’s wishes, he will be laid to rest at the Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery, Ten Mile, West Virginia on September 4, 2021, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory can be made at
