BUCKHANNON — Patty Joan Corder, 82, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born March 12, 1935 in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Mabel Grogg Zickefoose. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Percy Zickefoose; former husband, Edward Corder and one son, Danny Corder.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Wheeler and husband William, of Buckhannon; one son, Stephen Corder and wife Glenda, of Buckhannon; seven grandsons, Christopher Corder, of Buckhannon, Patrick Corder and wife Abby, of New Concord, Ohio; Cameron Corder and wife Elizabeth, of Buckhannon, Jason Corder and wife Alisa, of Columbus, Ohio, Andrew and Matthew Wheeler and Tyler Corder, all of Buckhannon; four great-grandsons, Caleb, Ethan and Levi Corder, all of Buckhannon and Tanner Corder, of New Concord; four great-granddaughters, Emma Corder and Maci Wheeler, both of Buckhannon, Emilee Corder, of New Concord, and Haley Corder, of Columbus, and numerous nieces and nephews. Patty was well loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and had many close friends and acquaintances. She was a secretary at Corder Tractor for years and ran the Old Kanawha Theater for several years. Later in her life she was a loving caregiver. She loved to sew and loved to cook large meals for the family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Family will receive friends Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with memorial services at 8 p.m. with Pastor David Fisher officiating.
