Pair of WVWC swimmers earn CoSIDA At-Large Academic All-District Team honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – West Virginia Wesleyan men's swimmer Arthur Assfeld and women’s swimmer Kay Lange were named to the CoSIDA At-Large Academic All-District Team, the association announced on Thursday.

Assfeld is a physics major from Toul, France who has put together a 3.78 cumulative grade point average. He earned the Mountain East Conference Swimmer of the Week award twice in 2021 and eight times over his career. In 2018, Assfeld earned MEC Freshman of the Year honors and took home MEC Swimmer of the Year in 2019.

Lange is a graphic design major from Hannover, Germany who has put together a 3.94 cumulative grade point average. She earned Mountain East Conference Swimmer of the Week (Feb. 15) after she won the 1000-free and 500-free decisively. She was routinely a finalist at the MEC/GMAC meet since 2018 and found herself on the podium with All-Conference recognition several times over her career.

Assfeld and Lange are now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America voting.
