Opening day pushed as Kroger gas station continues construction

BUCKHANNON — After making headway on construction, a new gas station is almost ready for Upshur County to enjoy.

Kroger, located in Skyline Plaza, has made large progress on the construction of a new gas station over the hill, below the store parking lot.

The new station will offer great opportunities and deals for Kroger Plus card users. By shopping, customers can collect points on their rewards card to use at the gas station for noticeable discounts. This can potentially drop the price per gallon by dimes on the dollar.

Corporate Affairs Manager James Menees explained, “We do not have an official grand opening date set just yet, but we are hoping it will be close to the first week of February 2022.” The original opening date was slated for the end of January.

With the opening of the gas station comes job opportunities. Some senior level employees are preparing to transfer into the gas attendant position, opening their in-store employment spots. Kroger is currently hiring for a retail clerk and an assistant store lead. Applications can be submitted in person or through indeed.com.

Upshur County is thriving and opening up new opportunities for its residents to thrive as well. For more information on job opportunities, call (304)-472-0918.
