BUCKHANNON – Connor Olson has been hired as the next Director of Strength and Conditioning for West Virginia Wesleyan Athletics, WVWC Athletic Director Randy Tenney announced on Wednesday.
Olson will be tasked with designing and implementing the strength and conditioning programs for all of Wesleyan's athletic programs. Olson, a former WVWC strength & conditioning volunteer coach takes over after Eric Jett resigned to pursue an opportunity outside of collegiate athletics.
“We are excited to add Connor to the Wesleyan Athletic Department,” Tenney said. “He will build off of the great foundation set by Coach Jett.”
Most recently, Olson served as an Assistant Strength and Performance Coach at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He primarily worked with Blugold football, golf, baseball, softball and swimming.
The Appleton, Wis., native graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and went on to earn his Master of Science in Coaching and Sport Education from West Virginia University in 2020. While in Morgantown, Olson worked as an intern coach with the WVU olympic sports including volleyball, gymnastics, track and field, baseball and rowing.
Olson is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA.
