Oink’s BBQ closes the doors

BUCKHANNON — Upshur County has officially lost one of the many amazing, small-town business, Oink’s BBQ. Operator and owner Cindi Alkire recently sat down with The Record Delta to talk about the quick announcement and closure.

The restaurant has been a part of the Buckhannon community for just under two years. Alkire has been in the food industry for most of her life. The owner stated that she loves what she does, but is forced to give up the business, temporarily, due to medical concerns.

“I’d like to thank the community of Upshur County for all the support. I just love Buckhanon and everyone here is amazing,” expressed Alkire. The business at Oink’s was wonderful; however, she is left with no choice, as there is no one to run the business while she takes time off. Since speaking with The Record Delta, Oink’s has officially closed their doors.

Alkire plans to either reopen or open something in the future, after concerns simmer down. She also expressed interest in the idea of another restaurant or possibly a food truck. “This is not the end for me. Serving delicious food to the community is what I was born to do and I will not allow anything to get in my way.”

Thank you Cindi and Oink’s BBQ for the amazing food over the past two years. The community wishes you all the best!
