Ralph Chester Garber, 88, of Jane Lew, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Bridgeport Health Care Center. He was born on September 24, 1930 in Washington, PA, a son of the late William H. and Mary Essie Shoup Garber. Ralph served in the United States Marine Corp from 1950-1953. He worked and retired after 32 years of employment with Schlumberger Well Services. The constant worker, Ralph worked as a sales representative for I.L. Morris in Glenville for seven additional years after his retirement. He continued in the oil and gas business for another 3 years part time with Wonder Well Services. Cherishing her memories of Ralph is his loving and devoted wife, Judith Ann (Alexander) Garber. After their marriage on June 28, 1983 they shared nearly 36 years and she will miss him tremendously. Ralph is also survived by two children: Jay Garber and wife, Gail, of Bridgeport, and Pamela Whiteman and husband, Dr. Charles Whiteman, of Morgantown; son-in-law, Douglas Wright of Bridgeport; two stepsons: Robert Horvath and wife, Lisa, of Pawleys Island, SC, and Craig Horvath of Lake City, FL; five grandchildren: Matthew Garber, Miranda McCulley and husband, Ryan, Kristin Wright, Preston Whiteman and Nicholas Whiteman; five step-grandchildren:Harrison Horvath, Stephen Horvath, Christopher Horvath, Peter Horvath and Ashley Deal; one step-great-grandchild, Willow Deal; one sister, Margaret Poland of Washington, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, one daughter, Kimberly Jo Wright; three brothers, Robert, Harry and William Garber; and one sister, Catherine Chadwick, preceded Ralph in death. Family and friends will gather at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Coffindaffer officiating. Interment will follow at Broad Run Church Cemetery in Jane Lew.
