Not just ice cream: Sweet A Licious expands retail offerings


BUCKHANNON — Sweet A Licious first opened its doors on Oct. 6, 2017 as the first hand scooped ice cream shop in Buckhannon in recent history.  But owner, Michelle Jack, who wanted this to be a year-round adventure knew the shop could not sustain on ice cream alone especially thru the winter months. 
Over the past year, Sweet A Licious has slowly added a few new menu choices in the food and drink line, a limited food menu including hot dogs, soups, baked potato bar and daily specials often can be found being served up at 23 East Main St.  Buckhannon.  Iced coffee has also been a new addition to the menu Sweet A Licious has teamed up with local business owner Gene and Sarah Wells who own and operate Mountain Roaster Coffee. 

“Mountain Roaster Coffee is served up many ways in the shop, you can come in and sit down and have a cup of hot coffee, a nice sweet iced coffee (10 different flavors) or you can grab a bag of coffee or I fill cups to take with you,” she said.
  Over the last couple weeks, Sweet A Licious has added a small line of gift  items to help pull in customers throughout the year. Sweet A Licious now sells: 

Swan Creek Candles which is an American made candle made with Soybean Wax, which offers an exceptional quality product, clean burning-no soot, environmentally friendly, longer burn times and animal free.   

“We have a variety of candles in a variety of scents and we also have drizzle melts,” she said.  “We have a great selection of specialty Christmas scents and jars.” 

“Crazy Cool Threads is a faith based company that sells on trend Christ centered clothing to reach and influence people,” she said.  Sweet A Licious now sells a variety of T-Shirts from this collection in sizes from Small to 2XL and a lot of the shirts are unisex.

Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks was created back in 1984 by two moms living next door to each other in the little town of Delaware, Ohio, according to Jack.

“These moms shared a love of home cooking and making memories with family and friends and so, after many a conversation over the backyard fence, Gooseberry Patch was born and today, you can purchase your Gooseberry Patch cookbooks at Sweet A Licious.

All of the above items are being sold below Manufacturers suggested selling price, so stop by and be pleasantly surprised by the price and the selection.

Sweet A Licious has also created a couple special gift baskets for holiday giving and also has a unique gift available this year, according to Jack. The 2018 Official White House Christmas Ornament which honors Harry S. Truman, the 33rd president of the United States. This ornament is designed to illustrate three significant changes made by President Truman during his administration, stop by and pick up this very unique gift today.

In addition, Sweet A Licious has a few activities planned for the month of December:

December 1, Parent and Me (Child) Ornament making activity, $12 (includes ornament for Parent and Child), each additional child is $6 and you get to keep these precious Do It Yourself Keepsake Ornaments.

December 8, Reading of the Grinch by Cindy Lou Who and the making of Grinch Slime, $7 and the kids take the slime home with them.
