No. 1 Lady Bucs coast past East Fairmont, 71-41

Will host Bridgeport this evening for Senior Night

FAIRMONT — Top-ranked Buckhannon-Upshur ran its win streak to 12 games with a 71-41 victory over East Fairmont Monday night in Big 10 Conference play.

The Lady Bucs of head coach Jeremy Maxwell are now 16-1 overall and 7-1 in Big 10 games. They will now host Bridgeport at 7:30 p.m. this evening for Senior Night. That contest was postponed on Tuesday night due to the weather.

B-U stormed out to a 20-9 lead after one quarter against the Lady Bees and led by 27, at 43-16, at the intermission. The Lady Bucs carried a 55-30 advantage into the final frame.

Hanna McClung scored 17 points, dished out eight assists and collected four steals for B-U. Lauren Bennett added 16 points, five rebounds and three steals, McKinley Gaudet 10 points and Audrey Gaudet seven caroms.

Freshman McKenzie Reynolds came off the bench to net eight fourth-quarter points.

Freshman Kierra Bartholow knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points for East Fairmont (5-9, 3-7 Big 10). Classmate Somer Stover added 12.
