BUCKHANNON — An Upshur County man is behind bars after being charged with 10 misdemeanors following a string of vehicle break-ins. Officers with the Buckhannon City Police Department arrested William A. Henline, age 22 of Buckhannon, on Jan. 4 and charged him with three counts of tampering with a vehicle, in addition to seven counts of breaking and entering a vehicle.
According to the criminal complaints in the Upshur County Magistrate Clerk’s office, a total of 10 different vehicles were tampered with, and had items and money reportedly stolen from them. The complaint also states that the string of thefts occurred on seven different streets in Buckhannon, including Randolph St., Marion St., South Florida St., Fayette St., Camden Ave., Pocahontas St. and Barbour St.
Henline was arraigned by the Upshur County Magistrate and bail amount was set at $2,500 for each count.
He is currently in Tygart Valley Regional Jail pending $25,000 bond.
If convicted, Henline faces not less than two, nor more than twelve, months in jail, and could be fined not exceeding
