Multiple vehicle accidents cause traffic disruptions

BUCKHANNON — The City of Buckhannon experienced brief traffic disruptions following two separate motor vehicle accidents, one occurring on Route 20 South and one on Clarksburg Road.

The Upshur County Comm Center notified first responders of two separate accidents, one on Tuesday, March 29 and the other on Wednesday, March 30. On Tuesday, responders arrived at Clarksburg Road following an incident where an individual failed to yield the right of way to another, according to Buckhannon Police Sergeant Mark Stewart. Buckhannon Fire Department responded along with Upshur County EMS. One person was transported from the scene for unknown injuries. Further details were not available at the time of publication.

Another incident occurred on Route 20 South, near South End Glass on Wednesday, shortly after noon. The Upshur County Sheriff’s Department responded, along with Buckhannon Fire Department and Upshur County EMS. The investigating officers were unavailable for comment due to an ongoing emergency.

Both incidents caused brief traffic disruptions, only having one lane available for traffic, while first responders attended to those involved and performed their investigations. Follow The Record Delta for updates regarding both accidents following the completion of the investigations.
