BUCKHANNON — A local woman was arrested after striking and attempting to aggressively approach her relative with a weapon on Tuesday, February 1.
According to the criminal complaint, Deputy Joseph D. Barcus responded to an active domestic dispute occurring on the Old Weston Road in Buckhannon. While in route, Deputy Barcus received confirmation of multiple calls to this address throughout the evening of the offense.
The complaint states that the defendant, later identified as Barbara Jo Nine, age 63, hit her daughter in the upper extremities and then walked towards her aggressively while wielding kitchen knives. The victim had video evidence of the domestic dispute. West Virginia Trooper First Class F. Turansky responded to the call as well.
Court documents report the defendant has been charged with one count of domestic battery. Additional charges may occur at a later date. Nine is currently held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail with a bond set at $2,500 personal recognizance and $2,500 surety for a total of $5,000.
