BUCKHANNON — Moore’s Garage located at 9 Travelers Road is now open and offering a variety of services. Moore’s Garage prides itself on being a family owned and operated business. The garage also proclaims being a blessed family hoping to bless others by offering quality work at affordable prices.
Doug Moore recently opened Moore’s Garage in the same building that his father Richard Moore owned and operated Moore’s Garage and Machine Shop. Richard Moore built the garage from the ground up in 1984. Doug Moore frequently worked with his father gaining the knowledge required to be a skilled mechanic. Richard Moore passed away in 1994 and at that time the garage closed.
Doug Moore continued to work as a mechanic and consultant in the oil field and was also previously employed as a mechanic with a customs shop. Moore had thought long and hard about opening his own business and continuing with his father’s legacy. With the help of additional family members including Doug’s brother Randy Moore, the children in the family and friends the dream has come true.
Moore’s Garage is currently offering services that include Raptor Liner, sale of tires, mount and balance of tires, lift kits, brake installs, wheel bearings, and the list continues. Moore’s Garage says, “we are offering anything that an automotive garage would offer other than body work and paint.” Moore’s Garage will also be completing state inspections; however, law requires a business to be in operation for a period of six months before receiving their certification to perform them.
Currently Moore’s Garage offers Raptor Liner with a starting price point of $450, mount and balance of tires is $15, and their mechanical labor fee is $45 per hour. Their current hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Moore’s Garage’s motto is “Family owned and operated. We will service your vehicle like it is our own.”
