BUCKHANNON — Montford S. Corley, 94, of Buckhannon, died Monday, March 13, 2017 at home of his son. He was born Jan. 16, 1923 in Belington, a son of the late George E. and Lula Phillips Corley. On Dec. 23, 1943 he married Bernice Layne who survives. Also surviving are two sons, David Corley and wife Diane, of Buckhannon and Montford J. Corley and wife Joanne, of Richmond, Va.; two grandsons, Andrew K. Corley and wife Bethany, of Wake Forest, N.C. and Christopher R. Corley and wife Erin, of Cincinnati, Ohio; one great-grandson, Joss E. Corley, of Cincinnati, and one great-granddaughter, Anne E. Corley of Wake Forest. Mr. Corley was a member of the Belington Lodge 125 A.F. & A.M. and a 32nd Degree Mason with the Wheeling Lodge. Mr. Corley was a foreman for Consol Energy and was a member of the Chamberlayne Height United Methodist Church in Richmond, Va. Friends will be received Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Steven Meadows officiating.
