Mildred A. Echard, age 78 years, a resident of Beverly, went home to be with the Lord Monday, December 13, 2021 at Lavender Fields Assisted Living in Beverly, WV under the care of Mountain Hospice. She was born February 9, 1943 at Tallmansville, WV, a daughter of the late Lloyd W. and Macie Mills Tenney.
On June 4, 1966 at Tallmansville, WV, she was married to Warren L. Echard who preceded her in death April 23, 2004.
She is survived by one daughter, Rosalin Zirkle and husband Kenny of Valley Bend; three brothers, Noel Tenney of Tallmansville, WV, Neil Tenney and wife Precilla of Vienna, WV and Donnie Tenney and wife Lorelie of Tallmansville, WV; and one sister, Bonnie Kelley and husband Les of Plant City, FL. One granddaughter, Leah Ketterman and husband Zachary of Beverly; and special friend Delbert Hinkle of Elkins.
Also preceding her in death in addition to her father, mother and husband was one sister, Bettie Bailey.
Mildred was a graduate of Buckhannon Upshur High School and had worked as a cook for the West Virginia Children’s Home for twenty-five years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Beverly United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the church. The family would like to thank Lavender Fields Assisted Living and Mountain Hospice for their kind and loving care.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Andrew Boley officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Upshur County. Masks and social distancing are recommended for anyone attending the service.
