Michael Lee Kesling, 66, of the Kesling Mill Community, Buckhannon, W.Va., joined his father, Ancil “Junior” Kesling, in his eternal heavenly home on July 3, 2022, after a brave fight against a prolonged illness. A lifelong resident of Buckhannon, Michael was born on July 14, 1955.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Bowyer Kesling; his mother, Wanda Marsh Kesling, of Buckhannon; five sisters: Linda Kesling Mills, Deidra Hefner (Jeff), Rebecca Kesling, and Jennifer Kesling (Tommy Dowell), all of Buckhannon, and Tammy Hawkins (Greg Karp), of Shinnston; three children: Brian Kesling, Cassandra Kesling, and Amber Kesling, all of Erie, Pa.; two step-children: Jackie Stump (Doug Moore), of French Creek, and Rick Stump (Laura Bowyer), of Parkersburg; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Michael was previously employed by Corhart Refractories and Woody Construction. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed drawing, dancing, sports and spending time with his animals.
Michael will be fondly remembered by his loved ones for his orneriness, impish sense of humor and infectious laughter. His mother regrets that she could never properly discipline him because he ran too fast!
At his request, his physical body will be cremated as his spirit has already departed on the highway to heaven. He and Junior will be patiently waiting for their loved ones to join them, fishing poles in hand and hunting rifles on their shoulders. They say, “No hurry, the fish are biting and the weather is fine.”
