Meriwether resigns as men’s basketball coach at W. Va. Wesleyan

BUCKHANNON – West Virginia Wesleyan College announced prior to The Record Delta Wednesday deadline that Jack Meriwether has resigned from his position of head men’s basketball coach at West Virginia Wesleyan.

Meriwether’s tenure at Wesleyan began in 2015 as an assistant coach of the Bobcats.

He would remain in that position until taking over the head coaching job during the middle of the 2016-17 season following the resignation of then head coach Gary Nottingham.

Meriwether went 8-6 during his shortened first season.

His team went 7-22 during the 2017-18 season and they posted an 11-18 record this past year.

Meriwether ended his time at Wesleyan with a 26-46 record.

Meriwether will be returning to the prep school ranks as the head coach at the Miller School in his home state of Virginia.

Wesleyan will begin a national search to fill the position.
