Man wanted in Elkins shooting

On Sunday, June 30, 2019, at approximately 14:30 hours, Cpl. J.R. Wince of the WVSP Elkins Detachment received a call from Randolph County 911 in reference to a shooting on Adolph Road.

The victim, Jessica Durham advised she was in her home located on Adolph Road when her ex-boyfriend, identified as Paul David White, arrived at her residence. Ms. Durham had an active Protective Order on Mr. White and retrieved a handgun when she saw him pull into her driveway. She stated Mr. White kicked in the front door to her house and pointed a gun at her. She stated she heard a gunshot and returned fire. She stated she fired three rounds at Mr. White, striking him at least once. Mr. White fled the residence in a white Ford Edge bearing WV registration #72J321 towards Mill Creek.

There were two male witnesses at the scene whom corroborated Ms. Durham’s story. They both stated that Mr. White pulled in and exited his vehicle holding a handgun. Mr. White allegedly pointed the gun at the witnesses and told them there was no reason to get killed today. They stated he kicked the door open to Ms. Durham’s residence and they heard shooting. They then advised Mr. White came outside and drove off.

At this time, Mr. White has not been located, however there is a warrant for his arrest and he has been entered into NCIC. Anyone with information on his whereabouts, please contact the WVSP Elkins Detachment at 304-637-0200
