BUCKHANNON — A man who was struck by a vehicle on West Main Street Friday evening remained in fair condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
David Post, 34, was in the roadway on West Main Street near the underpass with Route 33 at 9:27 p.m. when he was struck by Albert Howard, 51, of Buckhannon, driving a 2005 Ford Focus, according to chief Matt Gregory with the Buckhannon Police Department.
Howard had been traveling northwest and the incident happened on a stretch of roadway that is not well lit, according to the report.
Cpl. Darin Hissam investigated and was assisted by Sgt. Marshall Powers and Cpl. Dewaine Linger from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department.
Gregory said there was no finding of fault on the driver’s behalf but the investigation has not yet been concluded. Post suffered a broken right leg and injuries to the left side of his face. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital by Upshur County EMS and then transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital by HealthNet.
The Buckhannon Fire Department also responded.
