BUCKHANNON —A Belington man who was wanted on a capias out of Barbour County attempted to flee from an Upshur County sheriff’s deputy before being apprehended Wednesday morning.
Kenneth Knight, 33, was arrested for fleeing on foot, a misdemeanor.
Cpl. C.J. Day was attempting to arrest Knight for the capias at the Day Report Center when Knight allegedly fled from the deputy, according to the criminal complaint from the Upshur County Magistrate Clerk’s office.
However, Day was able to apprehend Knight behind the Hampton Inn.
Magistrate Kay Hurst set bond at $3,000 public recognizance.
