BUCKHANNON — A Buckhannon man who allegedly stole 11 guns from a residence has been arrested.
Michael Lynn Lough, 32, was arrested for daytime burglary and grand larceny, both felonies, following an investigation by Cpl. Dewaine Linger of the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Lough allegedly took 11 firearms valued at $3,250 from a residence on Magnolia Road in Upshur County, according to the criminal complaint.
The firearms included a semi-auto rifle and several shotguns.
Lough allegedly confessed to an ATF agent that he took the guns, returned eight of the 11 and reported to agent Steve Worthy what he did with the other three firearms, according to the criminal complaint.
Magistrate Mike Coffman set bond at $125,000.
If convicted, Lough faces confinement in the penitentiary for not less than one nor more than 10 years for daytime burglary and imprisonment of one to 10 years, or, in the discretion of the court, up to a year in jail and up to a $2,500 fine for grand larceny.
