Lucas Shane Wamsley


TENNERTON — Lucas Shane Wamsley, infant son of Nicholas Shane and Meredith Hoover Wamsley, and twin brother of Caleb Nathaniel Wamsley, received his angel wings on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, and is now lovingly embraced in the arms of his heavenly father.

He was born on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.  In addition to his father, mother, and twin brother, he leaves behind a loving extended family:  paternal grandparents Jeffrey and Patricia Wamsley, of Tallmansville; maternal grandparents Robbie and Kelly Hoover, of Buckhannon; maternal great-grandparents:  Arthur Wilson of Holly Grove and Patricia (Patty) Hoover Newman and husband Clifford, of Buckhannon; uncle Seth Hoover and wife Quinn, of Buckhannon; aunts Jessica Neely, of Buckhannon and Hannah Wamsley, of Fairmont; cousins:  Isaac and Levi Hoover and Jackson and Parker Neely; and countless other great aunts and uncles.  Welcoming him to Heaven were his maternal great-grandparents Lyndell W. “Brownie” Hoover and Joy Dale Wilson; paternal great-grandparents:  Doyle and Maxine Wamsley and Arden McCourt and Inez McCourt Smarr; paternal stepgreat-grandfather Chuck Smarr; and paternal great-great-grandmother Flora Riggs.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the NICU/Newborn Critical Care Unit of Ruby Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion for their son Lucas, and for their son Caleb and other children like them, who because of their care are given a chance at life.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Big Bend Cemetery with the Rev.
