BUCKHANNON — Crystal Dawn Grey, age 43 of Buckhannon, received multiple charges following a domestic incident on Tuesday, March 15.
According to court documentation, Upshur County Sheriff’s Deputy Tanner Collins and Sargent Theron Caynor responded to a call regarding an active domestic dispute. Upon arrival, a relative of the defendant told officers that Grey allegedly caused a disturbance all day and had kicked in a door, busting the frame. The defendant left the residence earlier in the day but decided to come back after having issues that morning. Upon the defendant’s return, she approached her relative and threatened to hit her with a large club, being close enough to cause bodily harm. The criminal complaint also stated the defendant allegedly told the relative that she would kill her.
Upon arriving to assist, Sargent Caynor found the defendant located on the back porch speaking with officers. Sargent Caynor assisted in questioning the second relative involved in the incident. The relative stated that the defendant had been angry and allegedly began hitting the washing machine with a rolling pin and then struck him in the head. Officers discovered a broken rolling pin behind the bedroom door, on the floor with a broken handle near the washing machine. The victim also had a cut, above his hairline above his right ear, that had been bleeding. The defendant had previous domestic charges, which also occurred in Upshur County on Tuesday, November 18, 2003, Thursday, August 5, 2010 and Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
Grey now faces two addition charges of Domestic Violence in the third offense and Domestic Assault in the third offense. The defendant remains jailed at Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $20,000 cash or surety bond.
