BUCKHANNON — During the final competition night of the Miss West Virginia Teen USA pageant, Buckhannon-Upshur High School senior Cadence Ringer placed top 10 and won the Photogenic Award in the Teen division.
As this was her first time competing in a state pageant, Ringer was over the moon with the experience. “It was a true honor winning Photogenic in my first ever state pageant. I would have never been able to win this award without the phenomenal photos taken by Gretchen Pingley Photography! I was also extremely thankful for placing in the top 10. Having never competed in a pageant this large, I am very proud of my accomplishments!”
Not only is she beautiful, but Ringer also has a goal to ignite change. She fiercely advocated for her platform during the Miss WV Teen USA pageant, and assures she won’t stop there. “I am an advocate for children in the Foster Care system. I have recently partnered with Bryanna Williams, a Buckhannon native, with her program Sprinkled with Hope. She has created a program that allows children in the foster care system to receive a birthday present, which they often don’t get! This round we are serving the Western Regional CASA where our goal is to fill 200 boxes with toys, books, and a mug cake! We are taking donations of these supplies for ages 0-18!”
Ringer said she thoroughly enjoyed her entire pageant experience last weekend and took away a great deal of accomplishment and connections from her endeavor. She explained, “My pageant experience has allowed me to grow tremendously. Each and every girl had an amazing personality and was extremely helpful! Each lady had a goal at the pageant, not only to bring home the crown, but to create lasting friendships. I truly believe the stereotypical pageant girl is nonexistent in West Virginia! This year, I have gained confidence, experience, and some new friends!”
She plans to keep sharing her positivity, showcasing her beauty, and spreading her platform at pageants to follow! Ringer added, “In the future, I plan to compete in more fairs and festivals pageants to gain more experience. I also plan to compete for the Miss West Virginia Teen USA title again!”
