BUCKHANNON — One local man was arrested and jailed at Tygart Valley Regional Jail following a domestic incident on Monday, December 13.
Rashaud Thomas Dezarn, 20 of Buckhannon, is currently held on two separate bonds totaling $8,000. According to court documents, Deputy Dakota Lainger received a call for the removal of an unwanted person from a home on Tallmansville Road. The call that started as a removal quickly turned into a domestic call.
According to the criminal complaint, Deputy Linger arrived on scene and spoke to a male individual, later identified as Dezarn. The defendant advised that a female subject in the home assaulted his person with a broom which started the tussle. The deputy then spoke to the female subject, whom informed him that the defendant grabbed her by the hair and hit her with a broom, escalating the fight.
After taking both statements, the Deputy Linger examined photo evidence of injury on both individuals and placed Dezarn under arrest for domestic battery.
At least $3,000.00 of the amount above is a cash only bond, leaving the remaining $5,000.00 as a surety or cash bond.
