Little Lady Bucs run fourth at Harry Green


BRIDGEPORT – Cadence Vincent placed in three events here last Saturday to lead the Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Bucs to fourth place in the 23-team Harry Green Invitational track and field meet.

Vincent finished runner-up in the 800 meters in a time of 2:32.78 and in the high jump with a leap of 4-10, and was third in the 400 meters in a clocking of 1:03.50.

Catherine Neely won Buckhannon’s lone event, hurling the discus 86-4, and claimed third in the shot put with a heave of 33-1 ½.

Dezi Pugh took second in the 200-meter hurdles in 32.03 seconds, and Chloe Cale wound up fourth in the long jump with a leap of 13-8 ¼.

Two relay teams placed. The 4 x 100-meter foursome of Cale, Kyleigh Keener, Pugh and Reagan McVay was third in 55.94 seconds, and the 4 x 200-meter quartet of Ava Hollen, Madison Henderson, Rylee Carr and Keener was fourth in 2:01.73.

Buckhannon finished with 60 points. Winfield claimed the team title in the season-ending meet with 96 points.
