Little Lady Bucs halt two-game skid; Junior varsity team improves to 10-0


WESTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Bucs halted a two-match losing skid here Monday night with a 2-0 victory over Robert L. Bland’s Lady Patriots in varsity volleyball action.

They romped to a 25-5 win in game one, and finished it off with a 25-18 decision to improve their overall record to 10-3-2.

Kaley McKisic led the serving with 15 points, with Caroline Frye recording 10, Shelby McDaniels adding five, Meghan Bailey and Cadence Ringer contributing three apiece and Olivia McKisic chipping in with one.

K. McKisic had four aces, with Frye and Bailey notching three and two, respectively.

McDaniels and O.McKisic shared the spikes with two each, with Frye and Ringer nailing one apiece.

Frye, O.McKisic and McDaniels each recorded a dig.

The tips honors went to O. McKisic with six, with McDaniels getting two and Bailey one.

McDaniels and O.McKisic had a block apiece.

The Little Lady Bucs will wind up the season Saturday in the Belington Tournament. They were to have visited Lincoln Tuesday and gone to Mountaineer (Morgantown) Wednesday.

JV Little Lady Bucs stay perfect

WESTON – Allie Claypool served for 22 points here Monday evening to lead the undefeated Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Bucs to a 2-0 triumph over Robert L. Bland’s Lady Patriots in a junior varsity volleyball match.

Buckhannon claimed the opening game by a 25-8 count and wrapped it up with a 25-10 verdict to hike their record to 10-0.

Following Claypole in serving were Tori Perkins and McKinley Bonnett with eight apiece, Cat Neely and Paula Vaughn each with two, and Kaitlyn Hollen with one.

Claypoole recorded 11 aces, with Bonnett and Perkins logging six apiece and Neely and Hollen adding one each.

The Little Lady Bucs were to have visited Lincoln Tuesday evening and were to have closed out the season Wednesday at Mountaineer (Morgantown).
