Little Lady Bucs cruise past Taylor, 45-14


TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Bucs upped their varsity record to 5-0 here last Monday night with a 45-14 decision over the Taylor County Lady Knights.

Buckhannon jumped out to a 12-6 first-quarter lead on five markers by Kenna Maxwell, four by Ashley Catlin and three by Kendal Cur-rence.

With Lexi Kelley erupting for seven points, and Maxwell hitting four, the Little Lady Bucs took the second period by a 11-1 spread to romp into a 23-7 lead at the half

Maxwell banged in six points, Cat Neely canned five, and Gabby Parke and Currence tacked on two each in the 15-5 third canto that propelled the Little Lady Bucs into a 38-12 lead.

They finished it off with a 7-2 fourth quarter.

Maxwell took scoring laurels with 15 points. Currence, Kelley and Neely tallied seven apiece, Catlin had four, Parke and Henderson added two each, and Callie Lantz contributed one.

The Little Lady Bucs will go to Morgantown Tuesday to face South, and will entertain Bridgeport Thursday.
