Little Lady Buc cagers tumble to Mountaineer


MORGANTOWN – Kennna Maxwell and Kyndal Davis combined for 27 points here Dec. 12, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Bucs from falling to Mountaineer (Morgantown) by a 49-38 margin in varsity cage action.

Maxwell tallied 14 points and Davis racked up 13.

The Little Lady Bucs fell behind by a 17-6 count in the first quarter and were never able to offer a serious threat.

They lost the second period by a 14-9 score to trail by 16, at 31-15, at intermission.

They battled Mountaineer even at 12-12 in the third canto, with Maxwell tallying seven markers and Davis tossing in five.

Buckhannon took the fourth stanza, 11-6.

Following Maxwell and Davis in the scoring column were Gabby Parke with eight markers, Alyssa Abel with two, and Callie Lantz with one.

The Little Lady Bucs will battle in the Preston Christmas Tournament Dec. 26-27. They were to have visited Bridgeport Thursday to meet the Lady Braves.
