Little Buc soccer squad picks up two more victories

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Bucs picked up two more victories in contests with Fairmont and Barbour County.

They defeated Fairmont by a 5-1 score on Sept. 11 and followed that up with a 5-0 victory over Barbour County on Monday.

Against Fairmont, the Little Bucs raced out to a 2-0 lead.

Christian Dowell scored in the seventh minute with the assist going to Noah Radabaugh and five minutes later, it was Radabaugh’s turn to score with the assist going to Jonas Barton.

Fairmont scored in the 25th minute to make it a 2-1 contest, but it was all Little Bucs after that.

Radabaugh scored an unassisted goal in the 29th minute to increase the B-UMS lead to 3-1.

Dowell tallied his second goal of the game in the 35th minute to make it a 4-1 contest and Jackson Davis put the game away for the Little Bucs with a goal in the 59th minute.

The assist went to Adam Stalnaker on Davis’ goal.

Buckhannon-Upshur managed 15 shots in the victory.

Carter Zuliani made seven saves in the net for the Little Bucs.

In their game against Barbour, it was all Little Bucs.

Following 15 minutes of scoreless play, Radabaugh put the Little Bucs up with an unassisted goal.

Dowell then followed that up with a hat trick scoring three times in a 10-minute span.

He scored in the 38th minute with the assist going to Zach Loudin, found the back of the net with an unassisted goal in the 45th minute and he and Loudin teamed up again for a score in the 47th minute.

Dirk Riley wrapped up the scoring for the Little Bucs in the 52nd minute with an unassisted goal.

The Little Bucs tallied 20 shots in the win.

Riley made three saves in the net for the Little Bucs while Zuliani made one.

The Little Bucs were slated to play Robert L. Bland on Tuesday.

They will return to the pitch Monday when they host Elkins.
