Literacy volunteers needed for upcoming book sale

BUCKHANNON — Literacy Volunteers of Upshur County need your help!  LVUC will be holding its semi-annual book sale on Friday, November 8, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 9, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Social Hall.

They need help with the set-up and sale beginning on Monday, November 4 at 12 p.m.  If you are interested in volunteering, but are unable to be there during those times, they are also looking for food donations so breakfast, lunch and snacks can be served to everyone who helps. For more information, or if you are interested in contributing, please contact Literacy Volunteers at 304-472-2343, email [email protected] or visit on Facebook.

Literacy Volunteers is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free tutoring to adults in Upshur and surrounding counties who read or test below a fourth-grade level.  LVUC has a part-time director, and all tutoring is administered by trained volunteers.  It is fundraisers like the book sale that allow them to keep the doors open and free to those who need help.
