Letter: On the pipeline stoppage: Are endangered species more important than human beings?

Dear Editor:

In reference to the pipeline stoppage: Having a job provides human dignity, self-reliance and ability to feed and take care of yourself and/or family.

The 600-mile pipeline project to North Carolina will provide thousands of such jobs: 400 in Upshur County alone!

How on God’s earth could environmentalists deem five “endangered species” (what, some salamanders and frogs?) more important than human beings?

Would they rather have these thousands depend on the government welfare system in lieu of employment?
