Letter: Find out about veteran’s services at free DAV event

Dear Editor:

The Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 36, French Creek (DAV) will host the DAV Mobile Services Office “office-on-wheels, on May 11, 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. The van will be located in the parking lot near the American Legion Building, South Kanawha Street in Buckhannon.

The purpose of having this van in Buckhannon is to assist veterans and their families obtain the services and benefits they have earned.

A staff of highly trained DAV Services Officers will be available to offer professional support throughout the claims process.

When you come, bring ID, SSN, and any other documentation regarding military service. DAV membership is not required to receive services.

We at Chapter 36 encourage all veterans and families not to assume they are not eligible for benefits. Benefit programs change very often, and the service officers will have on hand the newest information.

Also the VA Hospital in Clarksburg will have staff attending to assist in information of services available at the hospital.

This is a free service provided by the DAV.

Adjutant, DAV Chapter 36
