KINGSVILLE (Texas) – Former Buckhannon-Upshur standout Mackenzie Leigh certainly left her mark on the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships last week in Kingsville, Texas.

The senior hammer thrower for Ashland University came up just short of winning a national championship placing fourth in the event with a throw a 56.19 meters.

The fourth-place finish gave her a third All-American honor to put on her resume.

She previously earned All-American honors with a fifth-place throw in the hammer in the 2018 outdoor season and an eighth-place finish in the weight throw in the 2018 indoor season.

Two of her Ashland teammates also earned All-American honors in the hammer throw.

Natalie Helenthal took third while Lindsay Baker finished eighth.
