Lady ‘Cats fall in lacrosse action to Frostburg State

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcat lacrosse team couldn’t get much going against Frostburg State in a home contest Wednesday afternoon at Ross Field.

Wesleyan dropped a 24-3 contest.

Frostburg State took control of the game early on as they scored nine goals in the first 11 minutes of action.

Wesleyan got on the board at the 17:21 mark with the first of two goals by Iris Kolenich to make it a 9-1 game.

Frostburg State scored five more unanswered before Kolenich struck again with a goal with 7:16 left in the opening half making the score 14-2.

Frostburg State added three more goals in the half for a 17-2 advantage.

Frostburg State outscored Wesleyan by a 7-1 margin in the second half.

The lone Wesleyan second-half goal belonged to Victoria Sisson at the 15:03 mark.

Sisson has scored a goal in every contest thus far for the Lady ‘Cats.

Frostburg State improved to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the MEC.

Wesleyan dropped to 0-3 and 0-3 in the MEC.

Wesleyan will play again today at Alderson Broaddus in a MEC clash at noon.
