BRIDGEPORT — West Virginia Wesleyan's Jaycie Blankenship has been chosen as the Mountain East Conference's Acrobatics & Tumbling Athlete of the Week.
A senior from Morgantown, W.Va., Blankenship helped West Virginia Wesleyan to its first win of the season last week, a 238.86-140.25 triumph over Georgetown College. She competed in 11 different heats for the Lady Bobcats posting over a 9.0 in four heats.
As a base, she was able to help WVWC post a 9.5 and 9.4 in the 5- and 6-element pyramid heats. She was also a base for a heat in acro and for tosses in the team event.
