Lady Bucs tumble to Charleston Catholic

TENNERTON – It was a game much more competitive than the final score indicated when the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Bucs opened their home soccer season Tuesday against Charleston Catholic.

The Lady Bucs dropped a 4-0 decision to Charleston Catholic.

Jill Uy scored a pair of first-half goals to give Charleston Catholic a 2-0 lead at the break.

They tacked on two more in the second half, getting goals from Aurelia Kirby and Hannah Sullivan.

The Lady Bucs were outshot by a 7-6 margin.

Harley Dean made three saves for the Lady Bucs in net while Katherine Skinner turned away six shots for Charleston Catholic.

The Lady Bucs, now 0-2, will be back in action Saturday as they make the long trip to Greenbrier East.

Kickoff is slated for noon.
