TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc lacrosse team wrapped up their regular season last week with a pair of impressive wins.
The Lady Bucs traveled to Wheeling and beat Wheeling Park by a 16-0 score and then returned home and beat Capital on Saturday by a 17-3 score.
In the win over Wheeling Park, Miranda Greene led the offense with five goals while Kaley McKisic tallied four and Hannah Walton and Hayley Rice each scored two.
The defense was led by Kiara Woods with six ground balls.
In the Saturday win over Capital, Greene scored a game-high eight goals while Emileigh Ryan put in four and Rice three.
“The girls played very well together and put together a lot of nice passes, remarked Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Jamie Greene. “The defense only gave up five shots on goal all night.”
The defense was paced by Mya Tenney with six ground balls while Kennedi Lewellyn had four.
They ended the regular season with an 11-8 overall record and a 10-2 conference mark.
They will host Morgantown Thursday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the state play-offs.
