Lady Bucs struggle against Bridgeport Indians

TENNERTON — Buckhannon-Upshur High School’s Lady Buccaneers couldn’t secure the win at a home soccer game against the Bridgeport Indians on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. The final score was 5-0 with Bridgeport for the win.

Bridgeport’s Allison Callahan scored the first two goals of the game—the first in the 8th minute and the second in the 25th minute of play. Allison Bender then scored the third goal of the game in the 26th minute, assisted by LeeAnn Gaskins. The ball was shot from 30 yards away and to the top middle of the goalkeeper’s net. 

Kaylee Reed then assisted Brianna Smell in the 37th minute with a shot from six yards for the Indians. The last goal was made by Ellamy Dodd with only one minute left in the game for a scramble to the box.

The next game for Buckhannon-Upshur will be a home game against University High School on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
